Invitation to 2018 (the 22^nd) Chongqing Urban Tourism Festival & Intercity Tourism Trade Fair

As socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era, according to President Xi’s report to the 19^th National Congress, what we now face is the contradiction between unbalanced and inadequate development and the people’s ever-growing needs for a better life. Tourism, as the currently foremost way for pleasure, is an important part of people’s needs for a better life. Tourism market holds tremendous potential. In recent years, Chongqing has become a popular tourism destination in China and one of the tourism-generating markets and tourism product centers. Chongqing published its 13^th Five Year Plan for turning itself into world-famous tourism destination and intends to increase Chongqing’s total tourism revenue to 450 billion yuan by 2020, with a growth rate averaged at 15%; and the number of inbound tourists would reach up to 5 million person/time. Chongqing will be China’s key tourism city and the world’s often visited and competitive tourism destination. 

To promote the exchange and cooperation between Chongqing tourism market and the domestic and overseas tourism industry as well as to deepen the whole industry integration, we have successfully organized 21 urban tourism festivals. The 22^nd Chongqing Urban Tourism Festival & Intercity Tourism Trade Fair (“Festival & Trade Fair” for short) is to be held from March 30 to April 1, 2018. Taking “traveling around the world, enjoying Chongqing” as the topic, the exhibition is to be synchronously launched at Jiefangbei Business District and Jinyuan Shopping Mall and we will set five areas: Window of the World, Fabulous China, Magical Chongqing, Tourism Promotion and Tourism Products. We are to lay emphasis on the pro-poor tourism projects and cooperate with local scenic areas and destinations to devote major efforts to implementing pro-people measures. We are to debut “Ten Characteristic Tourism Routes in Chongqing”, and integrate high-quality urban tourism resources in both Chongqing and foreign countries, in order to create an annual event in the tourism supply-and-demand market.

We hereby invite the government, tourism authority or tourism association to act as the co-organizer of this event and to organize the enterprises within the jurisdiction to participate in this event. We sincerely welcome the domestic and overseas insiders, partners from Intercity Tourism Union and tourism enterprises (including the tourism real estate agents).
